Experience

Jamie brings an extensive professional training background to his consulting work. In addition to his extensive fire service training and experience, he has received specialized emergency management and homeland security training through Texas A&M Engineering Extension (TEEX) in Target Hazard Information Risk Assessment (THIRA), Continuity Of Operations Planning (COOP), Disaster Management, Disaster Recovery, Disaster Resiliency, and Active Shooter/Active Killing Management.

As a commanding officer, Jamie also participated in multi-agency training and tabletop exercises with the New Jersey State Police and other law enforcement, fire and EMS agencies, focusing on the response to and management of active killing events. This experience provided him with a broader understanding of coordinated emergency response, interagency communication, incident management, and the challenges public safety agencies face when preparing for complex and rapidly evolving emergencies. This experience also provided Jamie firsthand knowledge on how limited police, fire and EMS agencies were with equipment and resources to respond and handle these emergencies and the critical need for funding through Federal, State and local sources.

With extensive experience navigating federal grant programs, including FEMA, as well as private and foundation funding, I understand that securing funding is only the beginning. I provide guidance throughout the entire grant lifecycle—from identifying funding opportunities and preparing competitive applications to procurement, compliance, reporting, and closeout. My experience includes helping organizations navigate federal procurement requirements, allowable costs, documentation, and Period of Performance requirements, while also developing strategies to pursue private and foundation funding. My goal is to help organizations secure diverse funding sources and successfully manage their awards from application through completion.

No department should miss an opportunity for funding simply because it cannot afford the services needed to pursue it.
